Selling a Shared Ownership home

Buying a shared ownership home is a great way to get onto the property ladder if you can’t afford to buy a property outright. However, there may come a time when you think about moving, for instance you might need a bigger house or even want to downsize.

If you want to sell your home, please get in touch with us and we can help you through the process.

As specified in your shared ownership lease there is a ‘nomination period’ when selling your home, which is a length of time where we exclusively market your property. This is so we can continue to provide affordable housing, giving buyers the opportunity to purchase a shared ownership home. The nomination period depends on your lease.

We’ll market your home with our chosen Sales Agent, who will deal with the sales process on our behalf. If a buyer hasn’t been found after the nomination period, then you can sell your property with an Estate Agent of your choice. If you do sell your home with your chosen Estate Agent after the nomination period ends, please bear in mind that the selling fee may be higher.
